We're Committed to Doing What We Can

The fashion business is the second largest contributor to pollution and landfill waste worldwide next to fossil fuel production. At ToughWorkz we're determined to do our part. It's true, we've not been at this long, but we are firm believers in sustainability and doing what we can to slow down the effects of climate change and, by doing so, create a better future for everyone.

Packaging

In October 2019, we cut all plastic packaging incoming from our suppliers. We had them stop sending us plastic hangers, plastic garment bags and anything bubble wrap. It's a small step to be sure but a necessary step in the right direction; and next up is getting them to ship to us in recycled boxes.

Shipping

Currently our orders are sent to customers in plastic shipping bags which are not ideal, and certainly environmentally cringe-worthy. Our ToughWorkz goal from the beginning has been to source and substitute compostable bags that are strong enough to weather the postal system and porches if left outside. In January 2022 we gave ourselves six months to accomplish this task; and we are proud to announce that as of APRIL 2022 we've done it. Landfill Diversion

What do you do with used work-wear jackets, pants, safety vests, overalls, bibs and other hi-viz safety gear? If we can divert it from landfills and re-purpose it somehow or donate it back into circulation, then that's a positive step for us and a meaningful one. In 2022 our REDO BUY BACK program* will be doing just that. Any jacket or vest bought from ToughWorkz will be eligible for a $10 BUY BACK and FREE SHIPPING to our warehouse, where we will clean it and donate it for resale or charity.
